Heavy Combination Licence - 2 Day

Course Outline

This accredited VicRoads program is designed for drivers seeking to upgrade their licence to obtain a Heavy Combination Licence from Heavy Rigid Licence.
A Heavy Combination vehicle is described as a Prime Mover/Single Semi, or Heavy Rigid plus trailer greater than 9 tonne GVM.
By completing the 2 day program, students will receive adequate theory and practical training to attempt the VicRoads Licence Assessment.

*** Course duration and costs do not at any time guarantee that the "On-road" Licence assessment will occur. Students MUST firstly meet all competency requirements, if not, training will continue for the duration of the course and the assessment will be scheduled at an alternate time and additional costs will apply. ***

This program is conducted over 2 days. (8.00am – 4.30pm)

Day 1: Classroom theory training & VicRoads Knowledge Test followed by the commencement of practical reverse training.

Day 2: Continued practical training on road and reversing followed by the commencement of the VicRoads licence assessment

  1. The applicant has held an Australian driver licence to drive a heavy rigid vehicle for a period of at least 12 months without suspension or cancellation.
  2. Provide two forms of identity for enrolment paperwork
    (Drivers licence, Medicare, Passport etc.)
  3. Must notify staff of any medical conditions/medication taken and receive Medical approval from VicRoads.
    NOTE: VicRoads require all students to declare if they have any Medical Conditions and/or taking any prescribed medications. A medical report will be required to be submitted to VicRoads Medical for approval prior to the program commencement. Please talk to the friendly Aust-Link staff about VicRoads Medical declarations and requirements.
  4. Pass Eyesight test conducted by Aust-Link.
  5. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
  6. Be proficient in English
