Course Outline

Designed for individuals who wish to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to obtain National Competency as a Heavy Machinery Operator. This course consists of comprehensive theory and practical training and assessment and meets the requirements of National Competency Standards.

This course is conducted over two days, Or One on one training and assessment is available on request (conditions apply).

  • Participants must be 17 years of age
  • Provide proof of identity prior to testing
  • Appropriate clothing and footwear
  • Be proficient in English
    • Identify any areas where participants may need additional support
    • Minimum written and /or oral English level
    • Identify whether students physical attributes may influence their ability to complete the training and assessment tasks (Reasonable adjustment required).


To train participants to operate Heavy Machinery in a safe and effective manner, in accordance with WHS obligations and manufacturers guidelines.


At successful completion of this course a Statement of Attainment will be issued to students, reflecting the National unit of competency achieved.
