Skills Uplift Pilot Program

Course Outline

Under the new Skills Uplift Program, the Victorian Government is piloting the development and funded
delivery of Skills Sets Training. Skills Uplift provides participants with the necessary skills and competencies to gain entry-level employment. The program is limited to supporting the Civil Construction industry and the skills needs of the Loddon/Mallee region. All Skills Sets have been designed in conjunction with local employers, to meet current and specific industry skills needs.

This program runs for nine weeks, and participants are required to attend classes on Tuesday and Wednesday of each week, from 8am to 4pm. The course structure comprises of classroom theory, practical machinery application, self-paced learning and industry visits

SUPLIFT020 Skills Uplift - Construction - General 4

WHO IS ELIGIBILE?

Skills Uplift is focused on providing individuals with the necessary skills and competencies to gain employment, and is therefore only available to unemployed and underemployed applicants. Individual referred from a Skills and Job Centre or Jobs Victoria Employment Network, who hold Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency, are eligible to participate in only one skills Uplift Skills Set.

Eligible participants will need to be provided with a referral letter from a  Skills and Job Centre or Jobs Victoria Employment Network.

An individual’s future eligibility to participate in Skills
First subsidised training is Not impacted by their participation in this pilot program.

CERTIFICATION

At successful completion of this program, a Statement of Attainment will be issued to students, reflecting the National Units of Competency achieved.
